How to Attend

Welcome!

Welcome to the 1st workshop on intelligent IoT for empowering people’s lifestyle and well-being that will be held virtually on Jan. 18-19, 2021. This workshop provides an ideal venue to address research challenges in the sensing, data analysis, application development, platform and  security of the technologies. This workshop is part of the joint research project entitled “Empowering the Lifestyle and Well-being of Eastern Asian Elders with Intelligent IoT” supported by the A3 Foresight Program 2020 funded by Japan Society for the Promotion of Science(JSPS), National Research Foundation of Korea(NRF) and National Natural Science Foundation of China(NSFC). 

Registration

The first step is to register:

Slack, Gather.town and Zoom

The Slack, Gather.town and Zoom will be the tools for this virtual workshop.  

  1. Slack is the main entrance to this workshop
  • An invitation to the workshop slack space will be sent to your registered email. Please check your mailbox to find the link to the slack space.
  • The workshop will have the following channels
    • #w1-general: general communication among attendees.
    • #w1-announcement: announcement from organizers
    • #w1-oral: communication with regards to the oral presentations.
    • #w1-poster: communication with regards to the poster presentations.
    • #w1-ask-organizer: for help from organizers.
  1. Gather.town is the virtual venue of the workshop
  • Conference room: Stay there during the oral session and communicate with others during coffee break and lunch time. The tables in the coffee break space provide private areas where your convocation won’t be interrupted by others outside. The closing session will also be held in the conference room.
  • Poster room: In the poster venue, you can see the posters and talk with authors and other attendees.
  • Bar: This is the KARAOKE room. Have fun there.
  1. Zoom is the video conference tool for the main program.
  • Presenter: your session chair will set you to co-host so that you can share your screen and make your presentation.
  • Audience: when session chair asks if there is any question,  you can unmute yourself and communicate with the presenters. Otherwise, mute yourself to avoid interference to presentations.
  1. Suggested ID: FirstName-Organization, e.g., Yin-KEIO

Points:

  • Please install the latest versions of Gather.town and Zoom
  • Gather.town is compatible with Foxfire and Chrome

How to participate the oral presentation 

  • The oral session will be held on Zoom. The link will be published in the slack channel and also in Gather.town Space.

How to participate the poster session

  • The poster session will be held on Gather.town. 
  • Move your character to the nearby of each poster to communicate with authors and other interested attendees.
  • Press X key after entering a poster’s private area to see the poster there as shown in the following figure
